  • “Maya helped get me to a place where I could breathe. With her help, not only was I able to implement healthy food choices, but she helped me to see the bigger piece that was missing…connection."

    Janay R

  • “Working with Maya has been powerful and meaningful for me as I learn to embrace my true self. Maya and I have been working on how to feel my feelings in my body not just think about them in my mind. Working with Maya has been a real safe space to talk about my deepest feelings. I have learned to practice interoception and the ability to sense all sensations within my body which has helped me managing big emotions. One of my goals working with Maya was to learn to manage intense emotional outbursts, and I have learned to do this by connecting with my body and recogizing sensations as signals that I need to take some breaths to calm down. I have learned many breath and mediation tools that have helped me regulate my emotions and have more compassion for myself in difficult moments.”

  • “Maya has made a deeply meaningful impact on the Sun & Moon Sober Living Community through her speaking, workshop facilitation and yoga & meditation classes. Her approach is inclusive, compassionate and empowering for participants, and she has a unique ability to make each person feel seen, even in a group setting. Drawing on a wealth of knowledge and personal experience, Maya has led workshops on nervous system regulation, boundaries, nonviolent communication and rest practices. Her workshops have been so well received that she has become a regular facilitator and a trusted mentor for community members.”

About My Work

My practice and work stems from my belief that all people deserve safe spaces to heal, feel seen and affirmed and that when we do our own healing work we help to heal our families and communities. Yoga Therapy and Ayurveda are such powerful modalities for integrating and processing trauma in our body and nervous system and I am committed to sharing them with integrity.

I study, teach, and practice yoga in the Krishnamacharya Tradition. I received these teachings through Amy Wheeler, who studied with T.K.V. Desichachar at the Krishnamaharya Yoga Mandrim in Chennai, India. These teachings have transformed my life and I am so grateful to all the teachers and lineages that have kept these ancient teachings alive despite thousands of years and colonization. I humbly honor and respect these teachings and their source culture and intentionally work to share these teachings in a way that honors their sacred roots.
